Family reunification
If you have been granted a residence permit in the Netherlands, you are entitled to family reunification. This means that your family members are allowed to come to the Netherlands. The application for family reunification is often a complicated process.
Residence permit applications
You received a temporary asylum residence permit from the IND. This is valid for five years. After that, you need a new document.
After 4.5 years, you can do the following:
- Apply for renewal of your temporary asylum residence permit (again for 5 years).
- Apply for permanent residence permit asylum (you need it to become a Dutch citizen).
Naturalization
A permanent residence permit allows you to become a Dutch citizen. You then apply for naturalization. If successful, you will receive a Dutch passport.
